Hi, I'm Ben Gruber. At Coorparoo Secondary College I studied programming and was greatly interested in computers and technology. On seeing my passion for the subject, teachers helped cultivate my abilities. I was also given the opportunity to expand my knowledge by working with the school IT department and assisting with technical production for school events by operating both lighting and sound equipment. This experience helped in my preparation for post-school life, providing the knowledge and confidence to succeed at University.

I enrolled in a Bachelor of Games and Interactive Entertainment at QUT and before finishing my degree, I was offered a job by CCP Games; a company in Iceland that creates video games. As part of their Community team, I communicated with people all around the world and assisted in the running of online and offline events.

Today, I still live in Iceland working as a Quality Assurance Engineer for a growing logistics company.

Hi, I'm Steven Harse, a graduate of the CSC Senior class of 2015. Following my five years of high school at Coorparoo Secondary College, I was accepted into a three year degree course at the Queensland University of Technology to study Information Technology, majoring in Computer Science. University was the place where I met with personal and academic success, graduating with Distinction and a Grade Point Average of 6.25 in the December of 2018.

I believe I came to Uni prepared for the workload and the style of assessment we were given. For this, I thank the teachers who guided me through my senior years at Coorparoo. I was glad to be able to use my experiences at CSC to navigate my journey at university, with its moments of success and happiness and its occasional trials.

At the beginning of 2019, shortly after graduating, I was officially hired as IT Support Consultant, working with the well-respected, established IT firm, Sharing Minds. A major highlight of my role is working with organisations across a variety of sectors. It doesn't have to stop here – Masters and other post-graduate degrees are always on the horizon.

My teachers at CSC helped me become who I am today, and I am grateful for that.
The feedback and the lessons I received, have become ingrained and enhanced
my abilities for my career, and ultimately my life.
